For this project my partner Shritan and I were tasked with making something to welcome Cannon guests to the school. We went through many plans but we decided on making a sign that says “You Belong Here” and has a QR code that brings you to the Cannon admissions page. We spoke to Mr. Diskin and he said that this would be a good idea.
At the beginning, Shritan and I began to brainstorm ideas and decided to create a white sign with maroon epoxy and led lights behind. We laser cut a prototype, but we didn’t like it very much. We then created a prototype on easel so that we could cut it out with the CNC machine:
After this we decided to create the real product. We increased the size to 2 feet instead of 1. The we cut out a 2×2 piece of wood and painted it white. After it dried, we put it in the CNC machine and cut it out. Unfortunately, we did not have enough time to fill in the epoxy and finish the project.
